Sports Highlights

With the regular season now behind them, Rod Gilpin and the second-place Bishop's Lady Gaiters (13-3) are getting set to host the third-place McGill Martlets (6-10) this Wednesday evening (7 p.m.) in the QSSF women’s basketball semi-finals.

Bishop's enters the post-season boasting one of the deepest and most talented line-ups in the country and their 13-3 record represents the best regular season record in Rod Gilpin's tenure at Bishop's. Led by Crofton's 15.2 points per game (tops in the QSSF) and Pitfield's 13.9 (3rd), the Lady Gaiters boast the second-highest scoring team in the conference (64.3 points per game) while Boulanger (5.7 rebounds, 1.6 steals per game) helps anchor the conference's second-ranked defense.

Currently ranked third in the conference, the Bishop’s Gaiters men’s basketball team will enjoy a brief break before facing the Laval Rouge et Or in the QUBL semi-finals on Friday, March 3rd. The location of the game has yet to be determined. In the event of a Laval loss this weekend, Bishop's will finish the season in 2nd place and host the Rouge et Or. If Laval sweeps their weekend games, however, Bishop's will travel to Quebec City to face Laval.

Spring break got off to a good start for the Bishop's University ski team, as they enjoyed a highly successful performance at the Le Relais du Lac Beauport ski resort this past weekend.

On Saturday, the women's team saw four of their skiers finish in the top thirteen and finished the day in 2nd place.

Good luck to all our teams – Go Gaiters Go!
