FAQ’s about registration:

When do I pick my courses?
Bishop’s offers a face-to-face registration process, allowing students to ask questions and receive individualize attention. In early August the Admissions Office will mail your registration package, including an academic calendar, a time table, and the date and time of your registration block. You will register for your courses at this time.

Will someone help me with my course selection?
Yes. Mandatory, academic advising sessions have been planned for Tuesday, September 5.

When do classes begin?

Classes begin Wednesday, September 6, 2006.

What is a normal course load?
5 courses – 15 credits

How do I Add / Drop a course?
Forms can be obtained from the Records Office. Forms must be completed, signed by your departmental chairperson, and returned to the Records Office no later than Tuesday, September 19.

What do I need to register?
  • Your student ID
  • A Pen
  • A draft of your tentative schedule
  • Your signed Student Charter of Rights & Responsibilities (enclosed in your registration package)

Where do I get my student ID Card?

You will be able to get your student ID Card from the Residence and Conference Services located in Paterson Hall on Labour Day weekend. All students must have their student ID Card in order to register.

What is the EWP?

The EWP is an English Writing Proficiency requirement that all new students at Bishop’s must satisfy. The requirement can be satisfied either by passing the EWP Exam or by passing the course EWP 099. For more information or to view past exams, visit the website.

If I have questions, who may I contact?

Students are encouraged to contact their departmental chairperson or Dean for academic questions. Questions can also be addressed to the Registrar’s Office located in McGreer Hall.
