Diaries of a Model UN Student...

As a member of the 2008 Bishop’s University Model UN team, I am eagerly anticipating our trip to New York City, more specifically the conference at the official UN Headquarters in Manhattan. After attending the first night class last Thursday, I realized it is an applied politics course, meaning it does not follow the regular template of a 300 level course. For instance, we are divided in to randomly selected partners to share the workload and presentations with. We will be bound to our partner through the entire New York simulation, therefore our teamwork will definitely be put to the test. Next weekend, the Bishop’s Model UN team is attending the QMON simulation at Universitié de Sherbrooke. The QMON is a small scale New York conference and includes attendance from all the major Quebec Universities. It is clear that this semester will be exciting since this unconventional class has been added in to my schedule.
